Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Newsly (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Newsly iOS app and the website at mydailynews.net.
1. Overview
Newsly is a news aggregator. The app lets you follow publishers, browse headlines, open articles on publisher websites, save favorites, and hide stories. You do not need a Newsly account to use the app.
2. Information we collect
- On your device: followed sources, favorites, hidden stories, appearance preferences, and similar settings are stored locally on your iPhone.
- Server feed data: our servers fetch public RSS/Atom feeds and cache recent headlines, summaries, images, and related metadata so the app can load your feed.
- Technical logs: like most websites, our host may record IP address, browser type, request path, and timestamps in standard server logs for security and reliability.
- Analytics & crash data (when enabled): we may use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand aggregate app usage and diagnose crashes. These services may collect device and app diagnostics according to Google’s terms.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the core Newsly feed experience. Favorites and feed preferences are kept on your device unless you choose to share content through the system share sheet.
4. How we use information
- To operate and improve the Newsly app and website
- To deliver personalized feeds based on sources you follow on your device
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot outages
- To understand aggregate product performance when analytics is enabled
5. Third-party content
Articles open on publisher websites or in an in-app browser. Those publishers and any ads, embeds, or trackers on their pages have their own privacy practices. Newsly does not control third-party sites.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited technical data with service providers that host our website, deliver infrastructure, or provide analytics/crash reporting, solely to run Newsly. We may also disclose information if required by law.
7. Data retention
Cached headlines on our servers are kept for operational needs and may be pruned regularly. Local app data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s normal practices.
8. Children
Newsly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Your choices
- Unfollow sources, clear favorites, or delete the app to remove local Newsly data from your device
- Limit tracking and analytics through iOS system privacy settings where available
